Overview:

We are seeking a Project Engineer who puts safety and people first. This role supports complex infrastructure projects involving underground piping, steam systems, chilled water, and condensate return design, with a commitment that goes far beyond technical execution. Here, safety isn’t a box to check — it’s a mindset. Our top priority is ensuring that everyone on the jobsite goes home safely at the end of every single day. If you're passionate about engineering and about building a culture where people look out for each other, you'll thrive here.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the full life cycle of utility infrastructure projects — from design through commissioning — with safety as the number one priority.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of systems for chilled water, steam distribution, and condensate return, with a focus on high-reliability and long-term performance.
  • Drive a jobsite culture where safety is shared, spoken, and practiced — not just enforced — ensuring zero-incident performance and daily safe returns home for everyone on site.
  • Collaborate across field crews, engineers, and contractors to ensure quality, coordination, and community are part of every phase of work.
  • Review technical drawings, piping layouts, and system designs to confirm constructability, compliance, and safety integration.
  • Conduct field walkdowns, support startup and testing activities, and verify adherence to ASME B31.1/B31.3, OSHA, and company standards.
  • Serve as a resource and positive influence, reinforcing a culture of care, accountability, and shared success.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial utility or infrastructure project engineering.
  • Understanding of steam, condensate return, and chilled water system design and implementation.
  • Proven field experience supporting safe construction and operations.
  • Passion for building relationships across disciplines and supporting a healthy, respectful jobsite culture.
  • Familiarity with underground piping installation, trenching, pipe routing, and thermal expansion considerations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

Preferred:

  • Field experience with large steam plants, chillers, and thermal utility systems.
  • Experience mentoring teams or leading safety-focused toolbox talks.
  • EIT certification or working toward PE licensure.

Salary:

  • Range $75,000 - $90,000

Benefits:

  • 401K
  • 401K Match
  • Life Insurance
  • Medical, Dental, Vision
